Snapshots

So I have not talked much yet about inworld relationships....

I have two people in particular that mean the world to be. My best friend and SL 'partner' (in crime at least) Jennaa, she is amazing, someone I can talk with, laugh with, and of course shop with! She is my beautiful SL 'wife' and I canot imagine this world without her.
Then there is Ghost Harris...Ghost is the most talented guy I have met on Second Life. He builds, he scripts, he photographs (he is an artist in RL also) and he makes me feel fabulous about myself, my dreams, and my accomplishments. Well the long of the short of it as I have encouraged him to begin a photo business in Second Life, his artistic eye should be here and in more than just taking pictures of me! So with my (and Jennaas'-- who has graciously donated a piece of her land) support I would like to introduce to you...Idle Minds Photography! Yes,he took that fabulous photo above! Instant Message Ghost Harris inworld for more information on his natural (not over processed and over photoshopped) gorgeous images for your wedding, portfolio, magazine, or events!

And I am wearing...'Versace' by chic boutique with "Celia" in black hair by ETD.

What a week...

This week has been amazing! I got to work on the runway with some of the most talented and involved in the industry models as a JCNY showcase model-I have learned so much this week and think this new interest in SL has grown into an even bigger obsession! I cannot get enough! I went to my first inworld 'go-see' this week with Delicious Results--and got the job as a Runway Model! The interview was really intense! Quick changes, quick prim editing and accesorizing, it was great--what a learning experience! And to get the job! I am training for their upcoming show and then will get to be in the one after! How fantastic--plus I get a discount at Delicious Results--go check them out in world, their designs range from formal to couture to grunge so there is something for everyone!

I will miss everyone at JCNY and am reapplying for October! I had such a fantastic time and it just made me more excited about this inworld career! Here I am with two fellow JCNY showcasers Krystanna and Wenadrenia (no we are not required to wear the same outfits, but come on, it was our last day) in "Angora" by Jador Fashion. "Natasha" hair by ETD and of course we are all wearing pieces of JCNY jewelry!

Live From The Runway....

What a great first two days on the runway! Not only have I gotten to meet some fabulous girls and boys in the industry, I also have had more excuses to blow more Linden on new runway outfits! In the upper photo here I am on the JCNY runway with fellow Showcase Models. My dress is Styles of Edo, hair EDT, skin RedGraves and my jewelry is...JCNY of course including my "Calla Lilly" ring and the Modea Hyper Gems necklace! Super congrats to all the the showcase models this week and I am awe inspired by all the gorgeous clothes and models! (photo by mainit hellman)

Here I am on Day 2, spent my 8 hours on the runway just enjoying the company of some of the supermodel girls in the competition! What an honor to get to pose here beside them and represent JCNY!

A Model Citizen...

I did it! I am one of 20 fabulous JCNY showcase models for this week in September! I could not be more excited to garner my first modeling honor ever *curtsies* I am so excited for this modeling journey to begin! I am in my second day of modeling class at Ewing Fashion Agency and was actually able to use some of my new posing and runway skills from class down the runway at JCNY today! I found JCNY a few months back when looking for a tiara and was instantly impressed with the quality and design of the pieces. My JCNY jewelry are some of my most prized SL possessions and it fascinates me where JCNY is headed with its thumb on the pulse of the fashion industry as well as its expansion into the JCNY vault collection of limited edition pieces, the new Iconoclast collection, and the upcoming release of myJCNY, further connecting Real Life and Second Life. I have become more involved in the fashion world in Second Life in the last few months, including attending events, shopping, and reading the fashion magazines and blogs. I have come to learn how the fashion world in Second Life reflects the Real Life fashion trends. As other aspects of Real Life begin to embrace Second Life as a forum for globalization in education, arts, and technology, the fashion world will also and I am excited to be involved in the industry as it crosses this precipice. Come check me out this week only on the JCNY runway ; )

Head On A Platter

So admittedly I have already gotten behind on my blogging, I blame a busy RL and busy SL that have been sucking me in giving me little time for reflection on all the amazing things that are always happening in world and out. So I am going to catch up this evening, and there will be plenty of new posts tonight and hopefully even more this week.

To round out my last few weeks in the form of SL hyjinks to discover (see I do not always have to be psychoanalytic or introspective!)

Museum of Amazing Illusions @ The Great Marine Adventure & Tre, Enchantment Island (102, 74, 238)

Our heads were on a platter, I turned into a spider, we saw an actual mirror in SL (sorta). Was feeling very silly one day and ran into this great Sim. Tons of things to do to waste time if you like taking snapshots as much as I do or like toying around with eye illusions.

I honestly felt that there should be a bit more in the museum (well I mean there WAS Zoltar...) but there are also tons of other place on the island to explore (though do not bother with the cave *yawns*) including apparently a treasure hunt (trust me, I am a fanatic of these in Second Life) but as you can see we did enjoy putting our heads on a fruit platter. And turning into spiders...

Refuge and Expansion AM Radio's Gallery Exhibition @ Welsh Cove 128,128

1940's-1950's rural cornfed America captured in SL. Farmhouse, Texaco Station, cornfield as seen through the eyes of SL artist AM Radio.

And in honor of Halloween (ok I am early..)...I went and played atBentham Manner for a bit...and sadly while waiting for one of my best friends Ghost to appear...

@ Bentham Manor, Haunted Mansion, Sevenfold (244,130,160)

Have fun exploring! Keep me posted on good places to play in and around SL!

Self Censorship

How many lives do I actually live? In SL I am a best friend, a dancer, an escort, an explorer, a purveyor of the arts, an aspiring model and builder, an apprentice photographer, and yet that is not enough. In RL I only tell some, my most trusted, of my exploits in SL. The rest of my friends, coworkers, family members, would have no idea that their "good-girl" would lead the type of life she leads in her second one, yet I am still finding that parts of me I reserve even in my alternate world.

How is it that social norms have found me in a world that was suppose to be my escape? Recently I have tried to enter the world of modeling in SL and received sound advice that there is no way I could be a dancer/escort on SL as well as model. The modeling community snubs that profession, even though it is by all practical purposes the best way to make Linden, meet people, and be a naughty flirt! And this is my SL! How have these norms found me here? So, I am torn. Do I pursue all my varied inworld interests at the sake of censoring myself? Should I be true to my RL/SL self and develop a take it or leave it personality? Or do I remain in SL a reflection of my RL self by keeping part of me in the dark...to be continued...

Lillyanna Ohl: im torn
Lillyanna Ohl: im wondering if I can password protect it? (my blog that is)
JL: Hmmm Im not sure you can I am looking....
JL: I think you can actually.
Lillyanna Ohl: i may do that
Lillyanna Ohl: so like modeling types wouldn't get it
JL Hmmm well as long as you dont put it in your profile and only tell customers about it if you want..I think you should be ok!
JL: Who is going to find it seriously...
Lillyanna Ohl: someone did
JL: I know but they are not a fashion queen on sl!
